The Lions club has performed many long standing services to Verona over the 75 years and here are examples of each of the major contributions we have made as volunteers.

The hospital loan closet provides walkers, wheelchairs, canes, crutches, shower chairs, commodes, and hospital beds free of charge to Verona residents. We have provided this service to needy residents over several years and this has been a vital contribution to the health and well being of Verona residents.
Over past 3 years the Verona lions have helped to send 5 large shipping containers of medical supplies and equipment to Ukraine hospitals. We are proud to collect and help the United Ukrainian American Relief Committee (UUARC) who provides vital assistance. The value of our equipment donations is estimated over $35,000. Our vital contributions have made it to Ukraine hospitals. Here are some pictures of our efforts.
The Lions collect and repurpose used eyeglasses from optometrists and Verona residents to help under privileged countries. We collect these used glasses at our yellow mailbox in front of the community center and transport them to a central location for shipment. Another example of how we serve others.
The Verona Lions has assisted the Camp Marcella services to the blind. We have maintained properties used by the camp to provide vital services to blind children and adults.
The Verona Lions has provided the Township of Verona a medical transport vehicle that enables residents to have a service via the Township health department to get rides from their homes to doctor appointments. Services are provided to both Verona and Cedar Grove. This is a vital service for any resident that needs medical transport for when needed. The Lions has of donated a new 2026 Chevy Equinox EV vehicle to replace the previous vehicle donated.
Each year the Verona Lions seeks applications and awards service awards to Verona resident students who graduate high school. Applications are reviewed and recipients are chosen based on volunteer service to the town. We wish to lead by example and encourage youth to give back to the town when ever possible.

Verona Lions in cooperation with the Verona Library offer residents a collection of large print books. These offer a great service for visually sensative readers that require large fonts to enjoy reading.

These books can be found at the Verona Library and also at the Verona Community center.

Many residents have taken advantage of the Verona bus stops on Bloomfield Avenue. These bus shelters provide residents convenient and safe coverage from the weather. The Lions maintain the shelters in cooperation with the Verona DPW. In addition to these shelters located at Verona Park and across from the Verona Community Center we provided community signs at the town square.
The Verona Lions in cooperation with the Township of Verona Health department has donated and distributed to needy residents Shop Rite gift cards. This service provides help to those individuals and families during difficult times. We have been providing over $3000 in gift cards donations annually.
